Many people see technology as the reason behind the so called digital divide, others see it as a solution. Technology is neither. It must operate in conjunction with business, economic and social systems. Advancements in technology are shaping our future, people with no legs are running races, dead hearts are being replaced by machine pumps, people are video conferencing from across the globe, bombs more destructive than fission reactions that leaves no long term radiation effects are being tested…trillions of dollars are being spent on defence by various countries and over a billion have been exposed to the personal computer.

In a country like India, there exists a paucity of scientific knowhow amongst the common man and students are no exceptions. In an attempt to bridge this gap and to preach the sermon of technology – TECHNEXT was born in the year 2002! Since then it has come a long way – from Breaking New Horizons to discovering the Vistas of the Future !

Most of us old enough to read this, would agree to have seen more changes in their lifetime than since the beginning of recorded history.TECHNEXT hopes to give the reader an insight into the various techno marvels of the present day and what awaits us in the unknown tomorrow.
Though still in its orbit of perfection, the TECHNEXT team always remains in a constant endeavour for excellence and give it’s readers something better than the best. And staying true to its commitment, TECHNEXT carries forward the tradition of redefining and setting higher benchmarks each time, so that the magazine betters its quality and standards with each edition.

Published annually by Asansol Engineering College, TECHNEXT contains articles submitted primarily by students regarding praiseworthy works and ideas from different fields of science and technology, covering a wide array of topics that fundamentally challenges every aspect in the relevant field of science and technology. As our constant companion on the path of technical knowhow,TECHNEXT is the symbol of our commitment in the pursuit of excellence over the years and has been highly acclaimed by academia and students alike. It has been an answer to the call for the technocrats of tomorrow – to give a sense of awareness, awakening and hope to those who crave for knowledge every hour of the day!

So let’s go places we have never been before, lets see time we have never seen before… let’s take a stroll – “BACK TO THE FUTURE !”
